Storytelling goes back thousands of years and is a key component in advancing civilizations. Early stories were passed on by oral traditions, painted on cave walls, carved into stone obelisks, and written on papyrus scrolls. Storytelling is the social and cultural activity of sharing wisdom and experiences, sometimes with improvisation, theatrics, or embellishments. Sometimes our stories are true, and other times they are pure fantasy. Every culture has their stories and narratives which are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural perseveration, and to instill moral values.

"In this session I will tell stories - orally and photographically and discuss how to tell stories in your photography.  And, if I am successful, you will have a new question to ask yourself every time you press the shutter: 'What story does this image tell?'" Nancy Lehrer
